Characteristics of motivational sphere and gender aspects of the disabled with lower limbs structural and functional deficiencies

The study sample included 318 disabled aged 18–66 with distortion of structure and function of limbs who applied for prosthetics to the Prosthetic and Orthotic Center «The rehabilitation of the disabled».
The research was conducted with the random sampling method according to treatment regimens. Data collection was organized in 2008-2010.
All the aspects, included into «The International classification of functioning, disability and health» (such as quality of life, individual psychological characteristics of personality, emotional and motivational spheres, surrounding socio-cultural and natural environment), were analyzed.
In order to improve the quality of rehabilitation, the evaluation of immediate and long-term results of prosthetic repair of lower limbs was done; along with that, we determined the level of physical activity of the disabled with lower limb amputation.
